You may have heard the news; scores are not sliding, the scales are. Cheating is competing. Schools that are failing are sailing and parents? Well, they are but pawns in Superintendent John White’s game. And what does Superintendent John White say?

“There wasn’t any intent to cover anything up…the formula, with the best of intentions, did lead to an escalated set of scores in high school

The Superintendent cited flaws in the previous system, and what of the present plan? Perhaps, it is “data suppression and manipulation of school performance scores that artificially inflated graduation rate.”

Louisiana State Superintendent, John White changed the standards formula (SPS) giving parents the idea that their children aren’t in failing schools, but it’s just a numbers game. That’s right, with the stroke of a pen, LDOE has transformed failing schools into successful schools.

This Public Service Announcement [PSA] explains how changing the formula does not create successful schools and what you can do to fight fake reforms.
