Let Our Young Be Awesome! Presidential Portraits by Chaz Rorick

Tis true and yet, more often than not it is forgotten; art is a science. Science is an art. The study of history is where we start. All the great masters looked to the past and found the future. If only we, or the powers that be, would set our children’s minds free, then perhaps policymakers might see the world beyond, or more accurately, see what is within the integration of a fuller, more balanced, whole child education. Could it be that for you and for me, were we to understand the linkage we as a nation, would truly progress.

Might we learn from the young, their actions and vision? Our youth are trying to tell us, there is more than what bores – testing, and a curriculum limited to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math

[STEM]. Rather than regulate the unregulatble [learning] let us go with the flow. Look to the children; they are our teachers. They are the masters of how young minds work.

Let us imagine curriculums that allow for expansion and truer expressions. Let our youth be awesome!

We love historical pictures of presidents and young people impersonating presidents. A student at Rush-Henrietta High School near Rochester combined them to create a fantastic photo series on Instagram. Chaz Rorick, you’re our favorite student of 2014. Do the vice presidents next!
