Project Description
Find a #Brownat60 event near you or join the action online!
Tomorrow, May 17th marks the 60th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education. Across the country, parents, students and educators are taking part in a National Week of Action to demand that our nation recommit to Brown’s vision of equity in education by supporting each and every child with the resources and opportunities they need to achieve.
Here’s how you can participate this weekend!
If there isn’t an event near you, don’t worry, you can still join us online. Take the Education Voter Pledge and help make education a 2014 election issue. (And tell your friends and colleagues to take the pledge, too!) Then, sign up your social media accounts for our Thunderclap to help us get #Brownat60 and the Education Voter Pledge trending tomorrow.
Finally, check out and share pictures from the Week of Action’s Tuesday kickoff rally at the U.S. Supreme Court. Over 500 people turned out for the rally! You can read the new report released at the rally by Alliance member organization Journey for Justice, “Death by a Thousand Cuts,Title VI complaints they filed with the Department of Justice after the rally.
Thanks for helping make this Week of Action a success!
